We visit, see how your space is used and ask what matters most to you.
Janitorial service is the backbone of a great workplace. Astra builds your plan around your facility: which areas we clean, how often and the details that matter most to you.
Our teams follow a clear checklist every visit and supervisors review the work, so quality stays consistent. Restrooms are cleaned and restocked, trash is handled, floors are cared for and every workspace is ready for the morning.
Your plan can include disinfection of high-touch surfaces like door handles, switches, counters and shared equipment, giving your team extra peace of mind.

Frequency comes down to headcount, hours and how much food and foot traffic your space sees. A busy office with a shared kitchen usually needs nightly service. A small suite with a few desks often stays fresh on two or three visits a week, with the kitchen and restroom kept right in between.
You don’t have to treat every room the same way. Restrooms and breakrooms can be cleaned nightly while private offices are dusted and vacuumed on fewer nights. Our guide on how often an office should be cleaned walks through the trade-offs.
If you already have a provider, the walkthrough is the moment to share what’s been frustrating you, whether that’s soap dispensers left empty, desks that never get dusted or a restroom that smells by noon. Those details go straight into the written plan so they can’t slip through the cracks again.
We set a start date that lines up with the end of your current arrangement and sort out keys, alarm codes and access before the first night. That way the first visit covers the full list instead of being spent learning the building.
Nightly visits keep a building under control, but some buildup needs a longer visit: dust on vent covers and high ledges, grime on baseboards and chair bases, stained grout and the inside of the breakroom fridge and microwave. A deep clean takes care of those in one pass, with furniture moved and floors scrubbed or extracted.
One or two a year suits a typical office, and busy buildings often book one each quarter. If you are switching providers, a one-time deep clean before the first night gives the new routine a clean starting point. Each deep clean gets its own date and task list in your written plan, and our guide to deep cleaning vs routine janitorial shows what to include.
Across the places we serve, a recurring plan cleaned five nights a week usually runs $0.14 to $0.25 a square foot each month, based on 2026 published market data. Our office cleaning cost guide breaks that band down city by city.
The math is straightforward: square footage times the monthly rate, set for how often we clean. An 18,000-square-foot two-story office building in Oakland with open offices, a large breakroom and six restrooms, cleaned five nights at $0.20, comes to $3,600 a month. The same building on three nights a week costs less each month, while disinfection of shared equipment or a midday porter adds to it.
Square footage and visit frequency set most of the price. After that come the number of restrooms and break rooms, the mix of carpet, VCT and sealed concrete, and how easily our team can get in after hours. Specialty work such as carpet extraction or floor refinishing gets a separate price line. Labor is the largest cost in any cleaning plan, which is why the same plan costs more in the Bay Area than in the Central Valley or northern Nevada. No. Once access is set up, the crew lets itself in after hours, cleans and secures the space before leaving.
Our crew does, every visit. We can supply the paper, soap and liners and keep them stocked, or use your own stock; if you supply them, show us where they’re kept at the walkthrough so nothing runs dry on the first night.
