Less dust, steadier halls.
Particles that settle on floor tiles, trays and rack fronts end up pulled toward server intakes. Over time that dust works against airflow and adds wear to equipment built to run nonstop. Astra Janitorial Services cleans colocation facilities, enterprise server rooms and network sites across the Bay Area, the Sacramento region and Northern Nevada, following each operator’s procedures to the letter.
Plans take in the full building: white space when your procedures permit it, plus the network operations center, offices, security lobby, loading dock, break rooms and restrooms around it.
Data center markets around us.
Data centers cluster in Santa Clara and San Jose and east of Reno and Sparks, all inside our service area.
Whatever the campus, your written standard comes first and our crews clean to it.
White space, done your way.
Inside the hall, we follow the method statement your operations team approves. Crews gown at your designated entry with shoe covers, hair covers and gloves as required, and bring only approved low-lint wipes, HEPA-filtered vacuums and solutions cleared for use near live equipment. Nothing is sprayed toward racks, and equipment is never touched, moved or opened.
We work top to bottom: overhead trays and ladder racks first, then rack exteriors and blanking panels, then the floor, so loosened dust is captured instead of resettling. Customer cages are cleaned whenever the operator or tenant requests it and opens them.
Raised floors and under-floor voids.
Raised floor tiles, including perforated tiles and cable grommets, are damp-wiped with approved solutions and HEPA-vacuumed. Under-floor plenums are cleaned a section at a time, with tiles lifted in the sequence your team approves so airflow stays balanced.
Pedestals, stringers and cable runs are cleaned without disturbing cabling, and each tile returns to its exact spot before the crew moves on.
Access, escorts and sign-in.
Our crews work inside your security program. Names are sent to the security desk ahead of each visit, IDs are checked at entry, and your staff escort crews wherever procedures require. Every visit is logged in and out, and crews stay within the zones set for that night.
Each cleaner is background-checked before a first visit, and supervisors perform quality inspections against your checklist. Astra carries insurance and workers’ compensation, and a certificate of insurance is sent for your vendor file.
Offices, docks and new halls.
Network operations centers, offices and conference rooms get regular janitorial care, restrooms and break rooms are cleaned and stocked, and receiving docks are swept and scrubbed so crate debris never travels toward the hall. Warehouse-style support space follows our industrial and warehouse cleaning approach.
After a fit-out, our post-construction cleaning crew clears construction dust from ceilings, walls, trays and floors before equipment is installed.
Planning visits around change windows.
Data halls rarely sit idle, so visits are booked around your maintenance and change windows. Quarterly or monthly deep cleans of plenums and overhead trays can be timed to the quietest week on your calendar, while routine floor and support-area work runs every week.
Each visit closes with a short note to facilities staff listing the zones cleaned, tiles lifted and anything the crew noticed, such as a missing blanking panel or debris near a cage, so your team has a record of each visit.
Staging rooms and the hall entrance.
New equipment shows up in cardboard, foam and plastic wrap, and every bit of it sheds fibers. Build and staging rooms are where that packaging gets opened, so crews clear it out each visit, break down boxes for recycling, then HEPA-vacuum and damp-mop the floor before debris can ride a cart through the hall door. Benches and carts are wiped down, and tools or parts left out stay exactly where your technicians put them.
At every entrance to the white space, tacky mats are peeled to a fresh sheet on the schedule your team sets and swapped out from your stock when a pad runs thin. Gowning areas get bins emptied, used shoe covers bagged, and benches and lockers wiped. Doors, push plates and badge readers are cleaned with approved wipes, since every hand in the building touches them on the way in.
What sets the price.
Data center work is priced per facility. White space and raised floor area, plenum cleaning, gowning and escort steps, frequency, after-hours windows and support-area size all set the figure.
A few useful answers
Common questions
Do you follow our method statement in the data hall?
Yes. Your procedures set gowning, entry points, approved products and zones, and our crews work to them on every visit.
Can the under-floor plenum be cleaned?
Yes. Tiles are lifted in your approved sequence, one section at a time, and the void is HEPA-vacuumed and wiped before tiles go back.
Do cleaners ever handle servers or cabling?
No. Crews clean rack exteriors, blanking panels, trays and floors and never move, open or unplug equipment.
Do you serve data centers in the Reno area?
Yes. Our Nevada service area includes Reno and Sparks, and data center work there follows the same procedure-first approach.
Can cleaning happen while the NOC is staffed?
Yes. Office and NOC work is timed around shift handovers, with quiet tasks done while operators are at their desks and vacuuming saved for the gaps you choose.
